===== How to publish Hypatia scientific data on the Web =====

Hypatia is connected to a webserver **hypatia.aei.mpg.de**.
You may use it to make some of your own files available on the Web.

  * The directory ''/home/username/public_html'' (if existing) will be mapped to, and made accessible via ''https://hypatia.aei.mpg.de/~username/''
  * ''http'' URLs will be auto-rewritten and -redirected to ''https''.
  * The directory ''/home/username/public_html/LVC'' (if existing) is only accessible to LVC members (who will have to identify themselves using their LIGO.ORG //"albert.einstein"// credentials, registered at the LIGO roster.
    * Caveat: This also includes files and directories further down the tree, the name of which starts with **LVC**.
    * The same protection is offered for ''LSC'' and ''LIGO''.
**Warning:** Although some initial tests have been performed, and no obvious misconfiguration or malfunction has been identified, please test, test, and test again!
  * Everything else can be accessed from the AEI internal network.
  * **There's no unlimited public access anymore! AEI's IT department chose to block access to user-controlled webspace completely. We don't want that to happen.**
