===== Software available =====

Minerva is running CentOS 7. Most software is provided as modules though, to be independent of OS upgrades.

  * Intel Parallel Studio 2016 update 1 "intel"
    * e.g. "module load intel/compiler/2016" or "module load intel/mpi/5.1.2"
  * Intel Parallel Studio 2016 update 3 "intel2016.3"
    * there's also an "intel2016.3/all" module covering all components

  * ... (to be extended)

===== Software requests =====

Requests for software can be fulfilled in two ways:
  * RPM package installation (on the login nodes; in the compute node containers)
  * Module creation
    * you may provide a fully-built module, complete with its modulefile, for installation in ''/cluster/apps///package/////compiler/////version//''
    * modules can currently be built from tarballs providing configure, setup.py, or Makefile

Requests should be made public(ly) using the minerva-users mailinglist.
