This also applies if you want “only” to use the GPU machines!
As Hypatia's HTCondor headnodes are public ones, to access Hypatia from outside you will need a personal Grid Certificate (often referred to as X.509 cert), and a gsi-enabled ssh client. Please see Grid Certificates and GSIssh for details. Also be aware that port 2222 must be used for gsissh access. (I know that recent macoses have issues with that, and I'm aware of the terrible state of gsi-openssh.)
There is no such limitation for access from the AEI internal network, you may use normal ssh (with a key pair) then.
With a valid AEI account, you may also use VPN (which effectively adds your computer to the internal network).
The greeting email is your confirmation that account setup has been finished.

, or of grid-proxy-info -issuer
if the output contains your name, please double-check)Once again: We're using gsissh to access the public port 2222 on the head nodes. ssh access to port 22 is only open from within the AEI network.
Some initial information about Hypatia can be found at https://hypatia.aei.mpg.de
To apply for a Hypatia account, send a request to hpc-support@aei... with the necessary information, and CC alessandra.buonanno@aei... for approval!
For access to the GPU machines, also jonathan.gair@aei... must approve.
